After two consecutive losses, Kilifi All Stars recorded their first win in the FKF Division one league with a 2-1 win over Congo Boys in a tightly contested duel staged at the Serani Grounds in Mombasa on Saturday 26 January.
With both teams gunning for their first points this season, end to end attacks ensued from the onset but none of the teams let their guard down.
The visitors were however forced to make an early substitution when an injured Athman Mwamuye was stretchered off the pitch in the half hour mark to be replaced by Jeno Katana.
In a rather balanced affair, All Stars went ahead in the 45th minute; slotting in a fine strike just before the half-time whistle. After the breather, Congo who were now pushing for a goal got a breakthrough with an equalizer in the 70th minute in a bid to push for a share of spoils.
Just when it looked that the match would end square, super-sub Ramadhan Juma netted the winner with his first touch five minutes left on the clock to hand All Stars maximum points.
