Kenya Commercial Bank recorded their second win of the season by upsetting league champions Gor Mahia FC by one goal to nil in a Kenyan Premier League (KPL) match played at the Machakos County Stadium on Sunday 27th.
Having initially felled league giants AFC Leopards for their first win in week seven, Frank Ouna’s charges got their only goal against Gor through Kennedy Owino and held on to bag maximum points- a feat that pushes them from the relegation zone to 12th on the 18-team log.
Elsewhere, SoNy Sugar had to rely on Daniel Otieno’s first half strike to end their 3-match win-less run at the Awendo Green Stadium. SoNy, with nine matches played, stay 8th on the log on 14 points. Three other teams (Nzoia Sugar, Sofapaka, Kariobangi Sharks) sit above Patrick Odhiambo’s charges on goal difference.
In Afraha, Ulinzi Stars recorded their third successive draw with this latest one coming against Paul Nkata’s Kakamega Homeboyz FC.
The streak sees Dunstan Nyaudo’s men stagnate at 10th with 12 points from 10 matches.
