Commandos spank Kangemi All Stars to rise from bottom

The Green Commandos of Kakamega recorded their second win of the 2018-19 National Super League (NSL) at the expense of Kangemi All Stars with a dominant 2-0 win over visiting Kangemi All Stars at the Bukhungu Stadium.

Goals from Brian Lusamukha and Collins Sichenje were enough to gift the school boys with the win in a midweek clash played from 12 noon.

After a barren stalemate in the first half, the home side threw in Lusamukha for Richiard Okello upon resumption and his impact would be felt almost immediately when his first attempt at goal was thwarted by Mudaka Samwuel in goal for Kangemi.

He would not be denied five minutes later when he pounced on a rebound to fire in the opener after Mudaka had punched Norman Ogolla’s free-kick back into play.

Kangemi responded by throwing in former Nzoia Sugar man Benjamin Muchuma in a bid to claw back but the home side weren’t going to have any of it.

Collins Sichenje, finding himself perfectly positioned in the Kangemi box after a cut-back cross, fired in the second.

All Stars attempted a late rally but even the one goal they could sneak into the back of the net was ruled for offside.

2-0 it ended in favor of Commandos who now rise from bottom of the log to 17th- pending other results from across the country.
