Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side Ulinzi Stars FC and betting firm Elitebet have ended their partnership that had the bookmakers on the front of the military outfit’s jerseys for the past two seasons.
According to Ulinzi Stars’ official website, end of January 2019 marks the end of the brief partnership between the two. Club chairman Lt Col Erick Oloo appreciates the growth they have had with the firm.
”We would like to confirm the end of our partnership with the betting franchise, Elitebet.
“It has been a good run in the past two years as the partnership has aided Ulinzi Stars as a family and as a club grow from strength to strength and it is our hope that the benefits have also been realized on the other end,” he tells the club’s official portal.
The chairman further wished the betting firm the best in their future endavors, adding that their paths may again cross in future and that would be great.
“While we part ways at this point in time, it is our topmost wish that the company continues growing, as well as furthering its strategy for Kenyan football. We wish Elitebet the best and hope our paths do cross once again in future,” he concludes.
Ulinzi Stars’ last time out with Elitebet branded jerseys was their barren stalemate against Kakamega Homeboyz on 27th January.
Dunstan Nyaudo’s charges have had a topsy-turvy opening campaign that currently has them placed 11th on the 18-team KPL log.
They next take on Kariobangi Sharks on 7th February.
