AFC Leopards National Executive Committee (NEC) will on Tuesday 12 February hold a meeting and among key items set for discussion is the appointment of a new assistant coach.
The meeting comes just days after Boniface Ambani turned down an offer from the club, offering him appointment as assistant coach, with the former Kenyan international saying it was not done by the book.
On Thursday 7 February, Ingwe announced that it had appointed Ambani an assistant to head coach Casa Mbungo but in a quick rejoinder, Ambani turned down the appointment.
“I have not taken up the job because things were not done in the right way. There were no talks before the announcement and I don’t think that’s the way I would want to work. Things have to be done professionally,” he said.
Club Secretary General Oscar Igaida has now announced that a meeting is scheduled where the issue of an assistant coach will be discussed.
“We will have an National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Tuesday to deliberate on the issue, I think the issue will be resolved during the meeting,” he said.
Leopards is currently struggling in the league and is 16th on the log.
