Kapaito makes first start for Sharks in four months

Kariobangi Sharks are in Kakamega at the Bukhungu Stadium to take on hosts Kakamega Homeboyz in a round 13 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) fixture and head coach William Muluya has named his squad with striker Erick Kapaito being named in the starting XI for the first time since suffering an injury at the tail end of last season.

Kapaito went down with a calf injury last September, an injury that curtailed his explosive debut season in the topflight which saw him named season MVP as well as bagging the golden boot.

Sharks have had to do without him though he did return to contention last month. Tuesday’s game is his first start since his injury and he will line up in attack alongside Sydney Lokale who is riding high following his hat-trick in the 3-1 win over Ulinzi Stars last time out.

Kapaito’s return to full fitness is a big boost for Sharks, who have had to contend with George Abege’s absence through injury for the last three matches.

Below is the squad;

Starting XI: John Oyemba (GK), Michael Bodo, John Kuol, Tom Teka, Nixon Omondi, Sven Yidah, Shaphan Oyugi, Henry Juma, Erick Kapaito, Vincent Wasambo, Sydney Lokale,

Subs: Brian Bwire (GK), Hillary Ojwang, Fidel Origa, Boniface Opiyo, James Mazembe, Erick Juma, Moses Mwangi
