Chemelil Sugar head coach Francis Baraza says defensive lapses resulted to his side’s 2-0 defeat at the hands of Kariobangi Sharks in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) match played on Saturday 2 March at Moi International Sports Center (MISC) Kasarani.
Second half goals from Patillah Omoto and Erick Kapaito saw Sharks overcome a stubborn Chemelil Sugar side that had kept them at bay for the larger part of the match.
In an interview, Baraza said his side stuck to the game-plan but was hard done by two lapses in his rear-guard.
“We had planned very well for this game. We knew that they use the flanks to attack and we prepared well to counter that. It worked in the first half, in fact I can say we implemented our game plan well apart from the two mistakes that gave them the goals. We now have to focus on our next game, we have to bounce back,”Baraza told Soka.
At the height of the loss, the former Tusker, Western Stima, Muhoroni Youth and Sony Sugar coach has been linked with the vacant assistant coach’s role at AFC Leopards.
