Kenyan Premier League (KPL) leaders, Bandari FC will sign three players once the midseason transfer window swings open on March 11, as revealed by head coach Bernard Mwalala.
Speaking to Soka, Mwalala cited that he has identified areas to beef up and according to the former Nzoia Sugar boss, he will rope in a striker, a defensive midfielder and a winger.
The injury to the club’s anchorman, Wycliffe Ochomo will for a large part influence Mwalala’s transfer activity, as he concedes with the striker out for the long term, he will need a replacement.
“My striker, Wycliffe Ochomo will be out for months so I have to get cover for him. I also need one defensive midfielder and one one fast offensive player. So we are talking about three players; this will improve and add quality to the team,” he said.
The tactician further stated that no player will be exiting his team during the mid-season window clarifying that there will be arrivals only.
“We are not going to release any player, all the available players have a role to play in the team. We want to strengthen by bringing on board new ones and retaining the ones we have,” he added.
Despite settling for a barren draw over the weekend in their home match against Mathare United, the Dockers lead the KPL log with 32 points and are firmly in contention for the KPL title this season.
Mwalala will be keen on ending Bandari’s quest for a league title this season.
