Chapa Dimba: Eastern Final Pairings Complete

St Mary’s Ndovea, Chuka Starlets (Girls), Super Solico and Young Stars (Boys) have qualified for the Chapa Dimba na Safaricom Eastern Region Finals set to be played on Sunday 10th March at the Kitui Showground.

St Mary’s Ndovea 3-0 Saku Queens

In the first girls’ semifinals, St Mary’s Ndovea from Makueni thrashed Saku Queens from Marsabit 3-0 courtesy of goals from Daisy Chirchir who grabbed a quick brace in the 37th and 38th minute and a solo strike from Hensley Nuru in the 59th minute.

Karugwa Queens 1-2 Chuka Starlets

Chuka Starlets narrowly edged Karugwa Queens 2-1 in an entertaining second girls semifinal match played at the same venue.

Cynthia Adhiambo gave Karugwa an early lead in the 3rd minute and they held onto it until the 85th minute when Chuka leveled through Wanja Rosemary and Eunice Wanjau sent them through with an amazing goal four minutes later.

Young Stars 2-0 Triumph Boys

In the first boys semi, Young Stars eased past Embu’s Triumph 2-0 courtesy of goals by Dennis Mureithi in the 53rd minute and Abdisalan Ibrahim in the 62nd minute.

Supersolico 3-2 Samba Boys

Supersolico from Mwingi edged out Moyale’s Samba Boys 3-2 in an entertaining boys semi.

Nasri Ali gave Supersolico the lead in the 1st minute of the match from the spot but Samba Boys equalized two minutes after the breather through Mohamed Somo. Eric Zakayo put Supersolico ahead again in the 79th minute with Dennis Malombe adding the third in the 87th minute. Isaack Osama Hussein scored the second for Samba Boys in stoppage time as Supersolico held on to advance to the final.

The journey has been tough and long but eventually, we are here with a victory. We expect a tough battle tomorrow against Young Stars but we believe it is our season,” said Benard Mudachi, Coach Supersolico FC.

  1. Chuka Starlets vs St Mary’s Ndovea (Girls) – 9 AM
  2. Supersolico vs Young Stars (Boys) – 11 AM

The winners in tomorrow’s finals will each receive a cash reward of Ksh 200,000 and proceed to the national finals set for June 2019 at Kinoru Stadium in Meru. At the grand finale where the winning boys’ and girls’ teams will each walk away with Ksh 1 million shillings in prize money.

This year, an Allstar team will be also selected from the 8 regional finals to attend a training camp in Spain during which they will play against local youth sides.
