There was more good news for Kenyan Premier League (KPL) giants AFC Leopards Sports Club on Tuesday 12th- apart from celebrating 55 years old existence, Ingwe– also got the official clearance on Kenyan International David Cheche Ochieng.
According to the club’s official social media handles, Ochieng’s International Transfer Certificate (ITC) from FC Bromma in Sweden was in Leopards’ possession as at Tuesday 12th thus making Cheche available for selection today against Sofapaka Football Club.
AFC Leopards has received the International Transfer Certificate(ITC) of Kenyan international David ‘Cheche’ Ochieng from his former club IF Brommapojkarna (Sweden).” reads the brief Tweet.
The club further revealed that Cheche had in fact traveled to Kakamega with the rest of the squad for Leopards’ two Bukhungu fixtures- first against Sofapaka and next against Western Stima.
”Ochieng who has traveled to Kakamega with his teammates for our two fixtures to be played at Bukhungu Stadium is now available for selection in our upcoming KPL match against Sofapaka FC.” Leopards say.
Ingwe’s stay at the foot of the KPL log came to an end two weeks ago when they took down SoNy Sugar FC 1-0 at the Bukhungu stadium, a victory that brought to an end their 6-match losing streak.
Coach Andre Cassa Mbungo has since won two fixtures on the trot and Cheche’s clearance further inspires the team to go for more. Leopards have
eight losses from their opening 16 games with 22 goals conceded. The Kenyan International will first have to battle for starting places with lanky center-halves Christopher Oruchum and Salim Abdalla.
They take on Batoto Ba Mungu from 3 pm today at the Bukhungu Stadium.
