Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Gor Mahia will face Moroccan side RS Berkane in the CAF Confederations Cup quarterfinals following the draw conducted on Wednesday 20 March.
The Kenyan giants played twice in North Africa in the group stages, losing to Algerian side NA Hussein Dey and Zamalek of Egypt. As the quarterfinals draw was unveiled, K’Ogalo were handed a trip to Morocco.
Gor Mahia became the first ever Kenyan team to qualify for the continental quarter finals when they saw off Petro Atletico of Angola in the last of Group D matches.
Start at home
They will play the opening game against RS Berkane at home on 7 April before playing the return leg in Morocco on 14 April.
With a win on aggregate, Gor Mahia will still head to North Africa for the semis, as in their line, Egyptian side Zamalek and Hassania Agadir face off in another quarter final.
In the other pairings, Nkana FC of Zambia and home to Kenyan internationals Musa Mohamed and Duncan Otieno will be up against CS Sfaxien of Tunisia.
Tunisian side E.S.S will be up against Sudanese giants Al Hilal in the quarters.
