Ulinzi Stars will take on Tusker FC in a Kenyan Premier League (KPL) clash to be played Wednesday 20 March at the Ruaraka grounds starting 3PM and the squad that will do duty for the soldiers has been named.
Following the shock FKF Shiled Cup exit at the first round to SS Assad, head coach Dunstan Nyaudo has responded by making nine changes to today’s squad.
Only the striking duo of Enosh Ochieng and Ezekiel Okare remain from the squad that lost in the round of 32 on post-match penalties to Mombasa based SS Assad.
Some of the changes are tactical while others have been forced on the coach as a result of some of the team’s players being away on international duty.
Goalkeeper Jacktone Odhiambo has been named in the squad for the first time this season and will be on the bench to deputize James Saruni. Odhiambo comes in as second choice keeper Timothy Odhiambo is away in Sudan with the national U23 squad.
Midfielder Ibrahim Shambi is also with the U23 squad and in his place, John Kago gets his first taste of football this season after missing the first half of the campaign undertaking military duties.
Striker Oscar Wamalwa also returns for the first time this season and has been named among the subs.
Ulinzi won their last league game by defeating title chasing Bandari 2-1 in Nakuru with the duo of Okare and Enosh scoring.
Tusker on their part are on a four game losing streak and are desparate for three points to avoid losing more ground on the title chase. Both teams played to a 0-0 draw in the first meeting of the season in January.
Below is the squad;
