Late Kaheza strike completes Leopards’ comeback against Stima as Bandari are held

Tanzanian winger Marcel Kaheza struck deep in stoppage time to secure all three points for AFC Leopards in a 2-1 win over Western Stima in a Kenyan Premier League round 18 encounters staged at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Saturday 23 March.

Kaheza added to Vincent Oburu’s equalizer that had come minutes after the restart to cancel out Wesley Kemboi’s opener in the first half.

Kaheza’s strike is his second in succession after he netted, also in the last minutes, against

Stima will rue missed chances as they would have been 2-0 up in the first half if Kennedy Agogo Otieno had converted from the spot.

The result sees Leopards move up four places on the standings to 13th with 19 points, four points adrift Stima who are 9th with 23 points.

In another game played on Saturday, title-chasing Bandari FC secured a point away to Chemelil Sugar after both teams battled to a 0-0 draw.

The point is a welcomed result for Bandari who had lost their last two games to relinquish their hold on top spot.

They move to joint top of the standings with Sofapaka at 33 points while Chemelil adds a bit of distance between them and the drop zone with the millers now on 18 points, two above the relegation.

One more fixture will be played tomorrow Sunday with Posta Rangers and KCB going head to head in Machakos.
