NSL: Migori Youth edge Wazito as Nairobi Stima, Shabana return to winning ways

Migori Youth Football Club this evening served what could be the biggest upset of the FKF National Super League so far when they dismissed league favorites Wazito FC 1-0 in Camp Toyoyo- a match staged from 4:15 pm.

The difference was a first half Clinton Okoth strike, who, on he end of a Mark Osewe cross, made no mistakes from Wazito’s defensive blind side to power in the match’s only goal.

The loss means Wazito fails to go top of the division after fellow leaders Ushuru were held to a 2-2 draw yesterday. Ahead of week 23, Ushuru will therefore, stay top of the log ahead of Wazito with a point.

In Kakamega, the Green Commandos had to ward off a fierce challenge for the three points at stake when Fortune Sacco FC visited Bukhungu stadium on Sunday 24th and managed to scrap off one point from the contest.

Commandos, coming into the tie on the back of a 1-0 loss to Kenya Police in the midweek, went down through a Kazeem Adenkule penalty kick but on-form striker Castro Likhanga ensured a share of the spoils with a late strike.

At Jericho’s Camp Toyoyo grounds, Modern Coast Rangers fell 3-1 to Administration Police in a tie hosted from 2 pm. A similar score-line was recorded at the Gusii Stadium in favor of hosts Shabana FC when Kangemi All stars visited.

Former Kenyan International Bob Mugalia struck twice in the clash that also saw Zachary Onyancha get on the score-sheet. Kangemi All Stars would grab a late consolation goal through a defensive lapse from the home team to see the tie end 3-1.

Elsewhere, George Owoko’s Nairobi Stima bounced back to winning ways courtesy of a Patrick Asiku strike to dispatch fellow Powermen Coast Stima in Karuturi grounds.

In Eldoret, Victor Amusala proved to be the difference between Eldoret Youth and Nairobi City Stars when his second half penalty bagged it all for Youth.
