The second tier National Super League saw seven of its round 25 matches played on Sunday- prime among those a crunch Wazito FC versus Shabana FC at Jericho’s Camp Toyoyo Grounds.
With promotion chasers Nairobi Stima and Ushuru having done their duty earlier on Saturday, all eyes were on Wazito to maintain their lead at the top of the second tier standings but only if they could ward off a challenge from visiting Shabana.
The match though did not see completion and was called off at 1-1 due to fan unrest. According to the matchday referee, he had added 8 minutes of play and chaos started from the 96th minute after Wazito had pulled level for 1-1. The visitors could have none of that.
A source from the Football Kenya Federation tells Soka that the 1-1 result is likely to stand unless overruled by a committee that will deliberate on the circumstances under which the match ended.
In other matches played on Sunday, Kisumu All Stars and Eldoret Youth were winners on the road to Nairobi teams. As All Stars took down Kangemi All Stars through John Oruko and Seth Oyugi strikes, Eldoret Youth had to rely on Anthony Kingua’s lone effort for the three points against Kibera Black Stars.
Bidco United dispatched Migori Youth FC in Awendo while Administration Police held the Green Commandos to a two-all draw.
