Ulinzi Stars will be hoping to get back to winning ways when they take on Mathare United in a clash of former Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions at Afraha Stadium on Sunday 14 April and all players have been declared fully fit and available for selection.
In their last four matches, award winning defender Oliver Ruto has been missing, with a heel injury but after training well for the past week, the club’s Team Doctor John Imboywa declared him fit and ready to get back to the pitch.
Upon the coach
In a confirmation on the club website, the doctor says it is now upon the coach, Benjamin Nyangweso, to determine how he can deploy the left back.
“Ruto has been in training and he is good and fit enough to play. Now the ball is in the coach’s court, on whether or not he feels the defender can be part of this game,” the post reads.
In the last three matches, Ulinzi Stars have picked just one point, against Sofapaka. They lost 1 – 0 to AFC Leopards and Kakamega Homeboyz earlier and will be hoping for a lift when they host the 2008 KPL champions.
In the last five matches between the two sides, Ulinzi have won two and drawn three.
