Chemelil Sugar and Sony Sugar will now play their remaining league home fixtures from 1PM EAT from the usual set time of 3PM so as to help avoid the matches being rained off as was the case with the round 23 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) tie between Sony and AFC Leopards.
Rains have started to pound the Nyanza and Western regions and have proven a hindrance on recent fixtures held in these regions.
Sony play their matches at the Awendo Green Stadium while Chemelil play at the Chemelil Sports Complex in Nyando.
On Sunday, Sony and AFC Leopards were forced to abandon their round 23 fixture in Awendo after an hour with heavy rains pounding the area, leaving the pitch soggy and unplayable.
The match was rescheduled to be played Monday but Sony’s failure to provide adequate security and a well kitted ambulance for emergencies saw the match fail to kick off with Leopards refusing to take to the pitch.
Sony have five more matches to play at home while Chemelil have six of their respective 12 and 11 games remaining.
