Vihiga United on Friday 19 April officially unveiled the five players that had been roped in during the mid-season transfer window.
In a ceremony at the team’s training ground the Kidundu Stadium, that also saw the team’s new technical bench unveiled, Patient Ndikuriyo, Caleb Wanyonyi, Levis Opiyo, Johnson Muyesu and Elijah Mwanzia were presented.
Ndikuriyo a Burundian shot stopper, joined the team from Burundian champions Black Eagles FC and was one of three goalkeepers brought onboard with the others being Wanyonyi from FKF Division One side Vihiga Bullets and Opiyo from Posta Rangers.
Muyesu, a defender, was roped in from another Vihiga County based team in Division Two side Vihiga Sportiff with striker Elijah Mwanzia coming in from Ulinzi Stars.
The five were signed by coach Mike Muiruri who is no longer with the team having been dismissed earlier in the week as a result of poor performances that have left the team third from bottom in the KPL standings.
Of the five, only Opiyo has featured in multiple games, staring the last three fixtures with Mwanzia being named among the subs in last time out’s 1-0 loss to Zoo FC in Kericho.
