Rangers compound to Zoo miseries by claiming win in Machakos

Posta Rangers added more misery to Zoo FC by claiming a 2-0 win at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos in a round 25 league fixture played from 11AM on Easter Sunday.

The win does more damage to Zoo’s survival hopes as they remain second from bottom with 20 points and now four points adrift of safety with 15th placed Rangers extending that gap with the win and moving up to 24 points.

Zoo had boosted their chances of survival by defeating fellow relegation strugglers Vihiga United last time out. But that was sort of undone as almost immediately after that win, Vihiga dealt the Kericho based side a huge blow in the race for survival by roping in head coach Sammy Okoth.

Jumping ship with 10 games left to play showed that Okoth saw Zoo were fighting a lost cause and Rangers took advantage of that on Sunday, scoring a goal in each half to boost their chances of retaining their topflight status.

Three more games have been lined-up in the course of the day with Gor Mahia and Ulinzi Stars doing battle in Kisumu in the only Live game of the round.
