Rangers strike late to draw Sharks as Nzoia wins Millers’ derby

Kariobangi Sharks registered their ninth straight winless outing when another late concession cost them vital points as they played to a 1 – 1 draw with Posta Rangers at the Moi International Sports Center (MISC) Kasarani on Saturday 27 April.

Sharks were largely the dominant side in the clash and all indication was on them picking three points when Sydney Lokale rose off the bench to score a wonderful goal in the 81st minute.

All Sharks needed was to hold on to their slim lead for the remaining nine minutes but once again a lapse in concentration saw them concede in the 89th minute as Rangers skipper Jockins Atudo struck to earn his side a point.

The result left Sharks stuck at ninth place on 34 points after 26 matches while Posta Rangers opened up a four – point buffer from the relegation playoff spot but stay rooted in 15th place, on 25 points from 26 matches.

Meanwhile, in Awasi, Chemelil Sugar fell 1 – 2 to visiting Nzoia Sugar in a 1pm EAT kickoff. Selassie Otieno opened the scoring for Chemelil Sugar but Jackson Dwang’s brace won it for Nzoia Sugar.
