Wazito trounce Police to close gap at the top

Wazito FC were 5-2 victors of Kenya Police in a round 31 National Super League (NSL) fixture played on Monday 6 May at the Camp Toyoyo grounds from 11AM.

A first half flurry saw Wazito lead 3-0 at half time with Derrick Onyango, Victor Ndinya and Wilson Anekeya grabbing the goals.

A more goal laden second half saw four goals scored with Onyango wrapping up his brace and Amos Asembeka making it five for Wazito. David Oluoch and Abraham Dawo grabbed the consolations for Police.

Just a point

The win lifted Wazito up to 2nd on the standings with 63 points, just a point adrift of leaders Kisumu All Stars.

Police on their part fail to close the gap between them and the promotion playoff place as they remain in 5th place with 56 points, five off third place.

Three more matches will be played later-on on Monday to conclude the round that kicked off on Sunday.
