On Saturday 4 May several Kenyan internationals plying their trade abroad for different teams, featured for their clubs in their respective leagues.
Based in Japan, at Kashiwa Reysol FC, Michael Olunga was a miss in the match day squad for the game against Kagoshima United, which ended in a 1 – 2 defeat for Reysol.
Olunga has made seven appearances this season and has scored three times for his team. Reysol have picked five wins in the season and are in seventh position with 19 points.
In South Africa, Kenyan defender Brian Onyango Mandela, attached to Maritzburg United, was in play for 55 minutes before being replaced by Rushine De Reuck as the team beat SuperSport United 3-1.
Mandela has so far made 20 appearances for Maritzburg and scored once for the relegation threatened side, which is at the bottom of the league table with 26 points and having only managed six wins in the season.
In England, Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama who plays for Tottenham Hotspur replaced Eric Dier in the 46th minute of their game against Bournemouth, for his 12th appearance of the season.
The match saw two Spurs players sent off and Wanyama picked a yellow card after a confrontation with Bournemouth defender Jefferson Lerma.
All the way to Zambia, Zesco United pipped Prison Leopards 2 – 1 to recorde their seventh win of the season, with Kenyan trio Anthony Akumu, Jesse Were and David Odhiambo starting for Zesco.
Still in the Zambian Super League, Musa Mohammed, playing for Nkana FC, was in the starting team as they picked a point in the 1-1 draw with Green Eagles FC.
In Sweden, attacking midfielder Eric Johanna replaced Alexandra Nilsson in the 67th minute as his team IF Brommapojkarna beat Norrby 2-0 on Friday 3 May at the Boras Arena.
Bromma has lost four of their six matches in the season and are placed 12th with six points.
