Nzoia Sugar plots for Homeboyz as Muyoti returns to Sudi

For the first time since ditching Nzoia Sugar for Kakamega Homeboyz, Nicholas Muyoti will be making a return to Sudi Stadium, and his former employers are not going to make it easy in the Thursday 9 May clash.

Nzoia head coach Godfrey Oduor, will be the man charged with crafting Muyoti’s downfall and as he plans for the clash, he admits that a strong finish to the season is a priority and want to pick a positive result from this match.

Muyoti’s knowledge of the Bungoma based side will be an advantage for Homeboyz, but Oduor is not allowing that to blur his ambitions for the game. He says Muyoti will meet a different team on Thursday.

Big game

“Playing Kakamega Homeboyz is a big game by all means and we must strategize well for a positive result. We know Homeboyz, and coach Nicholas Muyoti will be out to make a statement but we are also keen on a strong finish so it will be a big fight out there.

“He has the advantage of having been here before but I can assure that things have changed and we will have a few tricks in store for them in that game,” he told Soka.

It has not been a spectacular season for Nzoia this one, but a lot of improvement can be reported at the team, and after their loss to Ulinzi Stars in the last match, Oduor acknowledged that his philosophy is gradually getting to the team.

Style of play

“The big positive I take from the Ulinzi Stars match is that the boys are now getting to know the style of play that I want in the team and that will make it very comfortable for everyone.

“They are very positive and I have gelled well with them and apart from style of play, I have also been encouraging teamwork so that we can do well in the coming matches,” he added.

Big challenge

And just like all other coaches this season, the big challenge has been the congested fixtures as the Kenyan football calendar heads to a change. That however is a seasonal issue he has to deal with and believes all will fall in place.

“The only challenge I have had after taking over the team is the squeezed schedule. There is really little time to instill everything when you play after every two days, but I know once we are done with the season it shall be well,” he concluded.

Placed 12th on the log, on 32 points, a win could propel the millers to 10th place by the close of the week.
