The Mumias Sports Complex and not the Bukhungu Stadium is where Gor Mahia will play their one game in hand which will be against Nzoia Sugar on Wednesday 15 May.
The fixture, carried forward from Match Day 7, was scheduled for the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega but upon consideration of Nzoia’s appeal to have the venue changed, the KPL has decided to abide by the millers request.
The Mumias pitch had been banned from hosting any top tier matches for the better part of the season due to safety concerns but the ban was recently lifted after the Stadium Safety and Security Committee (SSSC) approved its use last month.
The match was originally set to be played in January but was rescheduled due to Gor’s CAF Confederations Cup exploits.
Before the Mumias clash though, both teams will be in action in round 30 of the season that kickoffs on Sunday.
League leaders Gor will be in the rounds highlight match up against second placed Sofapaka in Kisumu while Nzoia will travel to Nairobi to take on Tusker in Ruaraka.
A win for Gor in the next two games will see them claim this season’s title in Mumias.
The defending league champions who have won the last two titles, lead the standings with 63 points, seven more than second placed Sofapaka and can reach an unassailable lead of 13 points with wins against Sofa and Nzoia.
