Kariobangi Sharks and Bandari FC will contest the 2018-19 FKF Shield Cup final this after both teams came through their respective semi-final showdowns played Sunday 12 May at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
Bandari powered their way to their first final appearance since 2015 by making lightwork of fellow coastal outfit SS Assad in a 6-1 drubbing in the days early kickoff while defending champions Sharks claimed a hard-fought 1-0 win over fellow topflight side in KCB.
A brace from Abdallah Hassan and a goal apiece from William Wadri, Wycliffe Ochomo, Darius Msagha, and Yema Mwana booked Bandari’s path to the final. Athman Bori scored Assad’s consolation.
2015 Shield champions Bandari will be competing for a place at next season’s CAF Confederations Cup preliminary round against defending champions Sharks who made it through to their third successive Shield final.
William Muluya’s charges saw off KCB 1-0 with former Sharks defender Bolton Omwenga scoring an own-goal.
The final will be contested in three weeks’ time on June 1.
