Posta Rangers and Vihiga United both played to a 1-1 draw as Sony Sugar and AFC Leopards saw out a drub 0-0 result in the two early kick off fixtures of the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) played Sunday 12 May across different venues in the country.
Third from bottom Vihiga United avoided defeat at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos in a round 30 tie when Alex Imbusia scored a second half effort to cancel out Rangers’ first half opener to secure the point that leaves them with 25 points, four adrift of safety with four games left to go.
Rangers on their part remain in 14th place with 30 points.
Elsewhere at the Green Stadium in Awendo, hosts Sony Sugar were held to a 0-0 draw with AFC Leopards to remain in 7th place with 46 points, seven points above 9th place Leopards who now have 39 points.
The tie was rescheduled from match day 23 following Leopards’ protests over Sony’s failure to provide requisite security as well as a fully equipped ambulance which should be provided as par league rules.
