Bandari FC were 3-1 winners against Tusker FC in a rescheduled Kenyan Premier League (KPL) tie played Thursday 16 May at the Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa.
Eugene Asike had Tusker in the lead with a follow-up to David Naftali’s headed effort after 22 minutes but the hosts would pull themselves back in it, with Shaban Kenga netting the equalizer on 33 minutes.
Bandari’s leading scorer Yema Mwana would continue his hot streak in front of goal immediately after the restart, taking advantage of a poor backpass to grab his 12th of the season.
Pacey winger Abdalla Hassan would make the points secure with a third goal in stoppage time as Bernard Mwalala’s men moved up to 2nd on the KPL standings with 58 points, eight adrift of leaders Gor Mahia.
On their part, Tusker remain in 7th place with 46 points after suffering their 8th loss of the season that ends a four game unbeaten run.
