Green Commandos’ quest for survival in only their second season in the top flight will come to tough scrutiny when they take on table toppers Wazito FC in the 33rd round of the national Super League (NSL) which takes off on Friday 17 May.
Wazito have been shifting between top and third positions in the season and will be hoping to now consolidate their place at the top as the season enters a very crucial stage.
They have managed 21 wins in the season, and with 52 goals scored, they are one of the two most prolific sides in the league, which makes Green Commandos firm underdogs here, with the Kakamega side languishing in 19th place, on just six wins in the season, and having managed 24 points so far.
Kisumu All Stars dropped to second after the 32nd round and being a point behind Wazito, they will still be aiming at the automatic promotion slot in just their second season in the second tier. They will be hosting Coast Stima on Friday at Moi Stadium, Kisumu
Opening the Saturday 18 May matches will be FC Talanta and Nairobi City Stars at Camp Toyoyo, and later on followed by the Administration Police and Migori Youth match in the second of a double header at the venue.
Third placed Nairobi Stima will host relegation threatened Kangemi All Stars at Karuturi Grounds hoping to grab three points which could still see them go top.
A total of ten matches will be on the cards.
