KCB picked their 10th win of the season after beating Kariobangi Sharks 3 – 2 in an entertaining clash at the Moi International Sports Center (MISC) Kasarani in one of the Round 31 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) matches staged on Saturday 18 May.
Straight from a win over AFC Leopards, the Bankers had the needed motivation and Ezekiel Odera gave them just the needed impetus with the opening goal from the penalty spot in the 10th minute.
Second half exchanges
The Bankers did well to hold on the slim lead going to the break but Sharks restored parity in the 53rd minute through Duke Abuya’s penalty after Erick Kapaito was fouled in the box.
KCB coach Frank Ouna would then pull out Odera in the 55th minute, replacing him with Crispinus Onyango, who went on to restore KCB’s lead with a 61st minute goal.
Onyango was at it again in the 65th minute with his second goal of the game and The Bankers’ third.
George Abege came in for Sharks in place of Vincent Wasambo and slid in the second goal for Sharks in the 88th minute at the end of great play from the home side.
The result leaves Sharks with just one win in 14 matches and with it they drop a place to 10th on 38 points as KCB move to eighth place on 40 points.
Meanwhile, in Machakos, Posta Rangers and Kakamega Homeboyz played to a barren draw at the Kenyatta Stadium.
