Harambee Stars goalkeeper Farouk Shikhalo believes Kenya has all it takes to put up a good show at the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) as the nation makes a return t the competition after a 15-year absence.
Farouk, a key member of the team in the qualifying campaign, says they are well motivated ahead of the tournament and notes that they have plenty to play for when they grace the big stage in Egypt later in June.
Past group stages
The target for the team, as shared earlier by head coach Sebastien Migne, is to go past the group stages; Farouk shares a similar target and with much at stake, he offers that they will go out there and do their best.
“Everyone is very motivated for the tournament; first we want to do it for our country, then it is also an avenue for our own exposure and we also have our families to play for.
“I am confident we will do well; the premier target is to advance to the next stage, and I believe after that all will be well,” he said.
Kenya is drawn in Group C of the tournament alongside Algeria, Tanzania and Senegal.
