One change for Gor Mahia in potential title clincher against Vihiga United

Gor Mahia will take on Vihiga United at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Wednesday 22 May in a round 32 Kenyan Premier League tie that could possibly be the one that clinches an unprecedented 18th league crown for K’Ogalo with two games left to play.

Head coach Hassan Oktay has named a strong starting XI squad for the game against the relegation threatened Vihiga County side, making only one change from the side that won 3-1 against AFC Leopards last time out.

Joash misses

Defender Joash Onyango who started the Mahemeji Derby over the weekend misses the game altogether and is replaced in the line-up by Charles Momanyi.

Derby hero Nicholas Kipkirui who grabbed a brace against Leopards, starts in attack alongside Jacques Tuyisenge who was also among the goals in the derby.

Burly midfielder Ernest Wendo keeps his place as the midfield lynchpin with Francis Kahata, Kenneth Muguna and Samuel Onyando in support of the two twin strikers.

Gor lead the standings with 69 points, eight more than second placed Bandari and only need two points to claim this season’s title.

Below is the squad;

Starting XI: Frederick Odhiambo (GK), Philemon Otieno, Geoffrey Ochieng, Charles Momanyi, Haron Shakava, Ernest Wendo, Francis Kahata, Kenneth Muguna, Jacques Tuyisenge, Samuel Onyango, Nicholas Kipkirui

Subs: Boniface Oluoch (GK), Joachim Oluoch, Bernard Ondiek, Boniface Omondi, Francis Mustafa, Erisa Ssekisambu
