Bandari FC are assured of finishing as the second best team in the 2018-19 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) season for the second successive campaign; this after playing to a 0-0 draw with Sofapaka in a round 33 league tie played at the Mbaraki Sports Complex on Sunday 26 May.
With one more round remaining, Bandari now with 63 points, are four points clear of 3rd place Sofapaka who had keeper Justin Ndikumana sent off during the second period at Mbaraki for a foul on Shaban Kenga outside the area.
Bandari have now eclipsed last season’s tally of 62 points which sealed 2nd spot for them. They play away to Nzoia Sugar on the final day of the season this coming Wednesday while Sofapaka, who are not yet assured of 3rd place, will conclude the campaign against Kakamega Homeboyz.
Having missed out on a chance at claiming this season’s league crown, Bandari still have a chance at silverware as they are set to take on Kariobangi Sharks in the final of the FKF Shield Cup in a replica of the SportPesa Super Cup final held earlier in the year in Dar Es Salaam Tanzania.
