Zoo to miss Chetambe in do or die final round match against KCB

Zoo FC will have to do without top scorer Danson Chetambe for their do or die final league tie against KCB set for Wednesday 29 May as a result of suspension.

Zoo will take on The Bankers at the Mumias Sports Complex looking to secure survival but they will have to do so without club top scorer Chetambe, who has netted nine times this season and is suspended as a result of accumulation of yellow cards.

One point

The Kericho based side currently sit just a point above the drop zone with 32 points and to be assured of their place at next season’s topflight campaign, will have to claim victory against the 8th placed Bankers.

Zoo were locked deep in relegation but four points from their last two games have placed survival in their hands.

A 2-2 draw away to Tusker and a 3-2 win over Kakamega Homeboyz at home have placed Zoo with the chance to extend their topflight status for a fourth successive season and Chetambe has played a crucial role in both games.

He scored the winner five minutes from time to secure the draw against Tusker and was among the goals as Zoo came from behind to snatch all three against Homeboyz.

Other players

The attacking midfielder is not the only player that will miss the final round of play as six more have also been suspended.

Gabriel Andika (Kakamega Homeboyz), Kevin Juma (Nzoia Sugar), Omar Mbong’I (Ulinzi Stars), Boniface Muchiri (Tusker), Yema Mwana (Bandari) and Said Tsuma (AFC Leopards) will all miss the season finale.
