Inter Milan have confirmed parting ways with head coach Luciano Spalletti in a statement released by the club on Thursday 30 May.
Spalletti has guided Inter through a tough season and indication of his departure was rife towards end of the 2018/19 season.
“FC Internazionale Milano can confirm that Luciano Spalletti is no longer head coach of the first team.
“The club wishes to thank Spalletti for his work and the results achieved together,” the club stated.
Spalletti served the team for two years and managed to guide Inter to fourth in Serie A, securing a place in next season’s Champions League.
Speculation concerning Spalletti’s future started after Antonio Conte’s photo with Inter’s media team surfaced on social media.
Conte is reported to have agreed a deal that will see him paid a base salary of approximately Ksh 1.12B across the first two seasons of his tenure before increasing by 225M in his third campaign.
