Bandari refute claims that Yanga have snapped up Shikalo

Bandari FC have come out to vehemently deny news emanating from Tanzania that TPL heavyweights Yanga FC have snapped up custodian Faruk Shikalo on a two year deal.

In a Facebook post, the Coastal outfit has been forced to put the record straight confirming that the Kenyan international is part and parcel of the club’s future and that they have no intention of letting him leave.

“Faruk Shikalo is fully focused on the games at hand and has a contract with the club of which he is serving happily,” head coach Bernard Mwalala is quoted as saying in the post.

Not factual

Mwalala’s sentiments were echoed by club CEO Edward Oduor who went on to confirm that the club has received no offer for the player from Yanga or any other club.

“Faruk is fully focused on the FKF SPORTPESA SHIELD Final today and AFCON and such news are fake and have no factual basis,” Oduor said.

Shikalo has been at Bandari for the last two seasons where he joined from Posta Rangers and has gone on to grow in stature even being a regular figure for the national team Harambee Stars.

He is set to line-up for his team in the FKF Shield Cup final on Saturday at the MISC Kasarani against Kariobangi Sharks before he links up with the national team for a three week training camp in France ahead of this year’s Nations Cup to be hosted by Egypt later on in the month.
