Harambee Stars will come up against Madagascar on Friday 7 June at the Robert Robin Stadium in Paris France in the first of two friendly matches lined-up for Kenya as part of the preparations for this year’s Nations Cup tournament to be hosted by Egypt alter on this month.
The squad that will line up against the Island nation, who also are preparing for the tournament, has been named.
Surprise inclusion to the lineup is that of John Avire who will start up front in attack.
The Sofapaka FC forward who is making a step up from the national U23 side was a surprise inclusion in the 27-man provisional squad and has now been granted the chance to show why head coach Sebastien Migne thinks so highly of him.
The starting squad will also see the return of winger Ayub Timbe who has not played for Stars since the 2-1 loss to Sierra Leone in the qualifier in mid-2017. Suspension and injury have kept him out of contention and the game against Madagascar will be his first under Migne who was appointed after the Sierra Leone game.
Star striker Michael Olunga starts from the bench after arriving late to camp on Thursday while captain Victor Wanyama, who was also a late arrival, starts in a start studded midfield.
