REPORTS: Kenyatta – Ushuru part ways, Odijo set to take over

Unconfirmed reports are suggesting that long serving Ushuru FC head coach Ken Kenyatta has been dismissed from his position at the club with his assistant James Odijo Omondi set to take over.

The reports surfaced on Tuesday 25 June and upon being reached on phone by Soka, Odijo neither denied nor confirmed the reports.

Ushuru have been stuck in the second tier ever since suffering relegation from the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) back in 2016. They have come close
to sealing promotion every other season, twice losing in the playoffs to Thika United and Nakumatt FC.

Top three

Last season’s campaign marked the first time since their demotion that they failed to make the top three in the NSL as they finished in fourth place behind the promoted duo of Wazito FC, Kisumu All Stars and Nairobi Stima.

In the time that the Taxmen have been in the second tier, Wazito, Kisumu All Stars, KCB, Vihiga United and Western Stima have all sealed promotion with Wazito doing it twice and Stima going back up just one season after they had been demoted.
