Bandari FC on Wednesday 25 June played the first of two friendly matches in their week long pre-season camp in South Africa, holding PSL side Cape Town City FC to a 2-2 draw at the FN Rangers Sports Complex in Royal Road Maitland Cape Town.
Benjamin Mosha and William Wadri scored for the KPL side with David Chris and Mthembu Siphelele doing the same for the hosts.
Bandari are in South Africa to prepare for the upcoming 2019-20 season that will see them fight it out on four fronts which has been brought about by their return to the CAF Confederations Cup as well as the CECAFA Kagame Cup.
Speaking after the match, head coach Bernard Mwalala was left pleased by his side’s showing as they prepare to travel to Rwanda for the Kagame Cup that is set to kick off next month on Saturday 6th.
“The match was the right test for the boys. Temperatures were lower than in Mombasa at 13 degrees which is good preparation for Rwanda where the team will represent the country.”\
The Dockers, who have been in SA since Saturday, will play one more friendly on Thursday before jetting back to the country on Friday where they will hold their final preparations before leaving for Rwanda, where they have been placed in a tough Group B that has defending champions Azam FC (Tanzania), Mukura Sports (Rwanda) and KCCA (Uganda).
