Gor Mahia’s preparations for the upcoming 2019-20 season have begun in earnest with the team giving long term contracts to three players from its youth ranks.
The three are Alphone Omija, Caleb Omondi and Samuel Osoo who have all put pen to paper on six year deals each.
Omija, a central defender, has been at the club since signing at the start of 2019 and has already been capped at the national U17 level.
Custodian Omondi on his part has been at the club since last year and was pivotal in the team’s Chapa Dimba heroics that saw them reach last year’s finals where they lost on post-match penalties to Kapenguria Heroes of West Pokot.
Also part of that squad was striker Osoo, who netted 30 goals in last season’s campaign.
Gor Youth currently top the FKF National Division 2 Eastern Zone.
The three players linked up with the senior team on Wednesday morning as they held their first training session ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Hassan Oktay’s men have a jam-packed seaon that will start in 10 days time when this year’s CECAFA Kagame Cup kicks off in Rwanda on July 6th.
Gor have been placed in Group D of the regional club tournament alongside AS Port (Djibouti), KMKM (Zanzibar) AND DC Motema Pemba (DRC).
