Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Gor Mahia have reportedly acquired the services of Rwandan midfielder Djabel Imanishimwe in preparation for the 2019/20 season.
According to Rwandan side Rayon Sports, the club has reached an agreement with the Kenyan giants for the signing of Imanishimwe, officially ending the player’s five – year stint with the club.
Reached an agreement
“We have reached an agreement for the transfer of Djabel Imanishimwe to Gor Mahia. We would like to wish our captain Djabel well as we say a fond goodbye,” a tweet from the club read.
According to the Rwandan giants, Imanishimwe scored 29 goals in his five year stay, and provided 53 assists.
A creative player, Imanishimwe could be the perfect replacement for Francis Kahata, who has already declared intent to leave the club after seeing out his contract.
He will snap up one of the few available slots for foreigners at the club, which was freed by the exit of talisman Jacques Tuyisenge at the end of last season.
