Just weeks after announcing his retirement from actively playing, former AFC Leopards and Mathare United midfielder Ezekiel Seda has been confirmed at Kariobangi Sharks, as an assistant coach.
Seda, who bowed out of the game due to a niggling knee injury, has instead opted to go into coaching and his first stop will be at Sharks, the club made the announcement on Monday 1 July.
He replaces coach Charles Omondi, who parted ways with the club on mutual consent after two seasons, having joined from Sony Sugar. Seda will work under head coach William Kanu Muluya and the club stated that he will take the role with immediate effect.
“The Club is pleased to announce Ezekiel Seda as the new senior team assistant coach. He takes over the role with immediate effect.
“Seda shall deputise coach William in what is his first managerial role.
We look forward to his contribution to the project at our club,” the club statement reads.
Upon his retirement, Seda termed it the hardest decision he has had to make as he opened the doors to other ventures.
