Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Gor Mahia have made another big step towards their preparations for the 2019/20 season with the acquisition of two more players to bolster their ranks.
Goalkeeper David Robert Mapigano has been shipped in from Tanzanian Premier League side Singida United and winger Dickson Isaac Ambundo has been confirmed, joining from Alliance FC.
Season – long loan
While the goalkeeper has signed a three – year deal, Gor confirms that Ambundo is on a season – long loan deal.
According to Gor Mahia, Mapigano has been in the club’s radar for the last two years, having been spotted at the 2017 SportPesa Super Cup tournament in Nakuru.
The two new players joined the earlier signed Elvis Ronack (Nzoia Sugar), Tobias Otieno, Abadalla Shura (Sony Sugar), Dennis Oalo and Curtis Wekesa (Nairobi Stima).
Earlier, Alphonce Omija (central defender), Caleb Omondi (goalkeeper) and Samuel Osoo (striker) were handed senior team contracts after flourishing in the Gor Mahia Youth Team.
The club has also signed Patrick Odhiambo from Sony Sugar FC to serve as coach Hassan Oktay’s assistant.
