British born Kenyan forward Jonah Ayunga was the toast of the afternoon on Sunday 7 July as he started off his second stint at Havant & Waterlooville with a bang, scoring twice to aid his team to a 2 – 0 win over Alresford Town.
It was Havant’s first preseason engagement and definitely a great moment for Ayunga to prove his worth to new coach Paul Doswell as the Kenyan forward returns after a stint at Sutton United.
Ayunga, who featured for four games at Havant in the 2018/19 season while on loan from Sutton United, scored either side of half time, much to Doswell’s approval.
He returns on a permanent move and will hope to finally cement a place at the team.
“Jonah Ayunga scored two great goals. One was a header and the other was a bullet into the top corner.
“With pre-season, the initial games is to try to get match fitness up,” Doswell stated.
Ayunga has in the previous years featured for Brighton & Hove Albion’s U23 side, Sligo Rovers and Galway United in the Irish top flight as well as Poole Town in England.
He scored a total of six goals for both Sutton and Havant last season.
