Abege leaves Sharks, heads to West Africa in bold career move

Ugandan forward George Abege has ended his chapter with Kariobangi Sharks after a season with the former SportPesa Shield winners and will be settling in Ghana at Asante Kotoko.

A former Sony Sugar, Nairobi City Stars and Bandari FC man, Abege had a crucial impact at Kariobangi Sharks, and upon his departure, he has the blessings of his team.

“Our striker George Abege has signed with our friends and African giants Asante Kotoko Sporting Club. We are grateful for his dedicated service and the professionalism that he displayed at his stay here. All the best Abege!” Sharks posted.

Last season, Abege scored three goals in the Kenyan Premier League. He was however key to Sharks’ triumphant march to the SportPesa Cup win over Bandari in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Final kick

On Sunday 7 July, he had his final kick for Sharks, with a successfully taken penalty as the KPL side beat English Premier League side Everton 4 – 2 on post match penalties in a preseason friendly match at Moi International Sports Center (MISC) Kasarani.
