Kenyan Premier League (KPL) new boys Wazito FC have pulled yet another big surprise in the transfer window with the confirmation of defender Bernard Oginga.
Oginga, a Kenyan international who was also part of the national team Harambee Stars at the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON), joins the team straight from Vihiga United, who were relegated at the close of the 2018/19 campaign.
One of Kenya’s highest rated center – backs, Oginga can as well slot in in midfield and after a tough season with Vihiga United, he says he is ready for his next adventure.
“It is great to sign here. This is a club I have admired in how it manages its affairs and it is a good feeling to be worthy of playing for it”, he says on the club’s official website.
Wazito have been the among the busiest in the transfer window, shipping in Sony Sugar trio of Joshua Nyatini, Kevin Omondi and Derrick Otanga then taking a short trip to Kariobangi Sharks to sign Gad Mathew.
The team has also confirmed the signing of Pistone Mutamba and Bixente Otieno, a Kenya U17 national team goalkeeper.
