Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Gor Mahia have confirmed the release of seven players, in preparation for the 2019/20 season, in which the team will be eyeing a record extending 19th league title.
Top of the list is Rwandan forward Jacques Tuyisenge, who was earlier reported to be ion his way to Angola to join Petro Atletico, with whom Gor Mahia played in the CAF Confederations Cup group stages last season.
Kenyan international Francis Kahata, who has been confirmed at Tanzanian giants Simba SC is also on the list of exiting players after seeing off his contract at the close of June 2019.
Ugandan forward Erisa Ssekisambu is another top player allowed to leave, after serving the team for just one season following a high profile acquisition after leaving Vipers SC of Uganda.
Former Kariobangi Sharks defender Pascal Ogweno is also released after just a season with the giants and he joins Cercidy Okeyo, who has been linked with a move to KPL newbies Wazito FC.
The top ranked Shaban Odhoji is also set to leave the club, with KCB, who have Gor Mahia’s former assistant coach Zedekiah Otieno taking over, touted to be his next destination while Castro Ogendo is also on the list of released players.
