Former Tusker FC forward, Ismail Salim Dunga has secured a move to Albanian top flight side FK Tirana after completing a switch from another Albanian top flight side, Luftetari Gjirokastër.
Dunga, who has also featured for a number of Kenyan clubs, had just a one – season stint with Luftetari, in 2018/19 and had a big impact there, netting 10 goals.
According to FK Tirana, he has agreed to a two – year deal with the club and subsequently, has been confirmed in the squad list for the coming campaign.
“Ismael Dunga is officially Bardheblu. The 26-Year-old striker has signed a contract that makes him part of Tirana for the next two years.
“The footballer from Kenya, scorer of 10 goals last season with Luftetari, comes as a player with great value for the Tirana attack,” the club stated.
Apart from Tusker, Dunga has featured for Congo United, Sony Sugar, Mathare United and Nakumatt FC (Mount Kenya United) in Kenya.
He has also made stopovers in Zambia, Morocco and Greece before settling in Albania.
Tirana – Kenya connection
While he heads off to this new adventure, Dunga is not the first Kenyan, or East African, to sign up with Tirana.
Previously, James Situma, Francis Kahata, Moses Arita, Musa Mohamed and Kenneth Muguna have turned out for the side, with each of them ending their contracts after short stays and with reports of unpaid dues.
