Dunga eyes better times at Tirana

Kenyan forward Ismail Salim Dunga will be hoping to write a new chapter for Kenyan players in Albania, after signing up with FK Tirana on Wednesday 10 July.

The striker ended his stay at another Albanian top flight side, Luftretari, where he scored 10 goals last season, and he is rolling his sleeves for an even tougher challenge.

His target, he says is to have an impactful season at Tirana, where a number of Kenyan players have failed to leave a mark.

“My target is to score a lot and to have a great season so that I can get a (better) team,” he says.

In his stay in Albania, Dunga will daily be pushed by the fact that his country men, among them James Situma and Francis Kahata had troubled stints in the team. He says he will be hoping to tell a different story.

“Everyone has his luck; we are different players here and we have different characters so I can’t compare myself with the other players,” he added.
