It is now official, Farouk Shikhalo’s stay at Bandari FC has come to an end after the club’s exit at the first round stage at the CECAFA Kagame Cup in Rwanda.
The goalkeeper has for a while now been linked with a move to Tanzania with the country’s greats, Yanga SC and he didn’t do much to de-link himself from the reports.
It may be clearer now, following a public post by the keeper stating his exit, and the fact he was eliminated from the Harambee Stars team for the African Nations Championships (CHAN) qualifiers further fuels the reports.
“It’s been two great seasons with lots of achievements and lessons learned along the way.
“I just want to say a big thank you to the Bandari Management, Technical bench, players and coastal fans at large for the tremendous support they have given me for the time I have spent at the club. I wish you more success in the future,” he posted on his Facebook handle.
Met Yanga officials
While with the Kenya national team at the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) pictures surfaced online of Shikhalo meeting Yanga SC officials, apparently negotiating the deal.
Shikhalo, the reigning KPL Goalkeeper of the Year, has previously played for Posta Rangers, Muhoroni Youth and Tusker FC.
