In the ongoing Kenyan Premier League (KPL) transfer window, Western Stima has been among the busiest teams and as at Sunday 14 July, nine players have been shipped in, with 10 released in preparation for the 2019/20 season.
Among the players released by coach Salim Babu’s side is veteran forward Wesley Kemboi, the longest serving member of the team at the close of the 2018/19 season.
Kemboi is not the only experienced player set to leave as Babu restructures; David Okello, Samuel Olare and Victor Oduor have also been released while Laban Gambareko, a member of the club’s 2013 KPL U19 team, has also been asked to leave.
Ian Otieno, Kote Berry, Calvin Odongo, Anthony Obonyo, and Martin Oduor are the others leaving the team.
As the 10 leave, the club has shipped in nine new faces, including Kariobangi Sharks duo of Henry Juma and Fidel Origa, Sony Sugar quartet of Kelvin Wasonga, John Njau Kennedy Odhiambo and Abdalla Wankuru.
Amos Kigadi has also joined in from the relegated Vihiga United, along with Ibrahim Ochieng from Kisumu Hot Stars FC and Ugandan Villa Oromchan who joins from Ugandan side, Bidco FC.
